Dealing with a loved one’s estate or acting as an executor or administrator can be a difficult time, we are here to help

Probate & Estate Administration

We understand that it is a difficult time if you are dealing with a loved one’s estate or acting as an executor or administrator. We are here to help.  Louise Salisbury or Joanne Ford, our qualified Solicitors based in our Rochdale and Bury offices aim to make the experience as stress-free as possible and will ensure that everything is dealt with correctly and efficiently.

We will meet with you as soon as possible to guide you through what is needed and how to take the matter forward.

We provide a range of services which will be tailored to your needs and we have a fixed cost regime which we will provide you with details of at the start.

When someone dies either the Executors or an Administrator will have to take responsibility for dealing with the estate and this may include;

  • Registering the Death
  • Making Funeral Arrangements
  • Notifying the Banks and official organisations
  • Notifying Pension Companies, Insurance Providers and the Tax office
  • Dealing with Utilities companies
  • Closing Accounts and selling shares
  • Inheritance Tax
  • Arranging distribution of the Estate

In order to deal with some of the above it may be necessary to obtain a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration. Once you have obtained probate, you have the legal right to deal with the deceased’s estate, ie their property, possessions and any money.

At AST Hampsons our experienced Wills & Probate lawyers based at Rochdale and Bury can deal with all or some of this for you – we can guide you through the process from start to finish ensuring that what is a very difficult time is made as bearable as possible for you.

We can arrange home and hospital visits if necessary.

Call us on 01706 653322 for our Rochdale office, 0161 763 1000 for our Bury office or email us at [email protected] to make an enquiry.
