About AST

AST Hampsons are a long established firm with offices in and around the North West of England. We have an office in Rochdale on South Parade and another in Bury at Waterfold Park

AST Hampsons was formed in January 2001 by the merger of the firms Atherton Standring Taylor (AST) and Hampsons incorporating Toomey Goodwin & Co. AST was the product of a merger which took place in 1989 between Athertons, who had practiced in Rochdale since 1968 and Standring Taylor & Co which was established in 1852.

Hampsons was formed initially as a six partner practice in January 1991 by four firms, namely Hampson & Co, Freer Heeley & Co, David Feingold & Co and Brody & Co. In May 1989 Hampsons merged with the firm Toomey Goodwin & Co to form the practice of Hampsons incorporating Toomey Goodwin & Co.

In 2004 AST Hampsons merged with the former Warhursts in Bury, thereby creating our Bury office and thereafter in September 2017 joined forces again with another well respected firm to become AST Hampsons incorporating Hudson & Taylor.
