My name is Ben Tatters. I qualified in 2001 and have a wealth of experience in corporate, commercial and property law. I joined AST Hampsons in 2024 to head up the Commercial Department.
My team and I take a holistic approach to a client’s business with a view to giving the best advice for them across the board and not just in respect of the transaction at hand. However, I deal with a wide ranging caseload of transactions including Asset and Share Sales and Purchases, drafting shareholder and partnership agreements, leases, and advising on commercial property sales, purchases and refinancing.
I have represented clients on both sides of the table, acting for commercial landlords and business tenants in lease agreements and sub-leases. I am experienced in advising clients on various matters including Overage Agreements, promotion agreements and acquiring sites for residential development and subsequent plot sales. I am also well-versed in assisting clients using their pensions (SIPPS and SASS’s) in commercial property matters.
My client portfolio and expertise is varied, ranging from aristocratic figures and professional sportsmen to everyday individuals and national companies to sole traders. I am a trusted adviser to clients and seek to understand a business fully to be able to help in whatever way is needed either directly with advice or by making introductions to my larger network of contacts.
My career has been conducted across a wide range of areas and I am committed to finding practical solutions that align with a client’s goals.
Outside of work, I cherish time spent with my wife, four sons, and two dogs. I enjoy swimming, running, and attending classical and folk music concerts as well as watching my younger sons play in their sports teams.
